Dear Fellow Alcornites:

Welcome to Birmingham, Alabama as the Birmingham Alumni Chapter host the 43th National Alumni Mid-Winter Conference. We are honored to host this event and hope that it meets all of your expectations. We have worked untiringly to leave no stones unturned to ensure that this conference is a successful one.

While in our city, you be able to take this time to renew old friendships and begin new ones as we share in Alcorn’s rich history and traditions. Please remember to share fully in our primary goal of helping to make Alcorn stronger, more inclusive and more competitive in preparing students for today and tomorrow’s world. Achievement of these goals requires us to contribute our time, talents and financial support on a regular basis to the school that was instrumental in launching our journey to success.

Again, we welcome you to the Magic City Birmingham. Birmingham has many cultural and leisure attractions you will want to visit while you are here.  Among those are the Magic City Blues Society, Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Negro Baseball Hall of Fame, and Rickwood Field the oldest baseball stadium in the country. Birmingham was the first city to celebrate Veterans Day, and it continues to host the largest Veterans Day celebration in the country. Enjoy your time in our city and do not hesitate to let any member of chapter if you incur problems or need assistance while you are attending the conference.

Sincerely yours,

Alvin Moore, President
Birmingham Alumni Chapter
